So, the Elite 1000 and the 1500 are basically the same as far as wiring and I asked BOOMSLANG for a quote on the custom
Harness for the Auto transmission and it’s a whooping $765 plus shipping ! Wow ! This is getting expensive.

Quality costs. Unless you are very good at wiring, it is a worthy expense.

Very interesting stuff here , I am liking HALTECH more and more as I read up on their equipment, it's pretty much bullet proof stuff. The WB1 deal fell through for $180 , so I have to pay full price now of about $350 or so.

Can the Elite 1000 do 4D mapping for the trans control?

No but I've cooked up another way to handle 4lo without 4d mapping

Thanks, it takes an extra SPI input but gets the job done as long as you don't want fine control over 4lo shift points.

Check out the PNP harnesses from URD if you want to wire it in yourself so save some money over Boomslang. Just need to figure out which Type you need. My 2000 Tacoma 3rz used a Type B IIRC

The hardest part is knowing what wires serve which functions and the correct pins on the Haltech, if you're new to it. Actual pinning is easy, so that's really what you're paying for with the Boomslang

    Definitely true.
Haltech should have a diagram mapping out all their wiring.
OEM ECU diagrams for early Tacoma can be found here: https://people.well.com/user/mosk/images/Early_Tacoma_ECUs_v2.pdf

Not bad. I made a spreadsheet myself for the 4x4 style connectors which has useage in plaintext

I would not know what to do with it. I am not that tech savy. I would not know which wire goes or how to piggy back the OEM ECU to the HALTECH ECU

I am going to go with the BOOMSLANG plug & play harness for $765 + S/H I don’t want to mess anything up or end up frying my OEM ECU

I am trying to get this one now for tomorrow. Those other deals fell through, some people just can't be trusted out here. But, I do have my WB1 already with connectors and 02 sensor as well. The good thing I did not pay full price for it.

All dual connector ECUs did before 2022 and then they changed them as the USB A port was never implemented for any functions in software
