Trading my old Tacoma in today for a new one. Stuck between MGM and Super White. I wanted to hear everyones opinion on both colors and why you would chose that respective color. I know color is subjective but still thought it see what TW has to say.

MGM is my vote! But colors are a personal preference so get what makes you happy.

Love my MGM but sometimes think White would have been the better choice to hide the pin striping I get from off roading.

White if it's an outdoor truck.

MGM if it's a garage queen / interstate cruiser.

(White is easier to repair/touch up and is somewhat cooler.)

Both colors are great. neither show dirt horribly. The plus for the white, as before mentioned, it hides scratches well

I have owned both , the MGM shows dirt and scratches very easily. While super white hides dirt and scratches but is a single stage paint and it has no clear coat so you will have to wax it often.

Really? I figured all vehicles had a clear coat?

Non mattalic or "solid" colors typically don't

White, i think its easier to clean, looks cleaner, white trucks always looked good wheeling in the snow.

You also don't have clear coat peeling off in a few years either.

I'd much rather work with non clear coated paint on my long term stored outside non show vehicles.

I don't have a good explanation for that and I paint for a living. Clear over matallic colors gives a greater depth to the finish and also makes it easier for blending repairs. Solid colors don't typically show much depth nor are most people concerned about it unless it's a show finnish in which case it'll be painted wet sanded and sometimes resprayed then wet sanded and buffed to give it some depth but primarily with a dark color. If I have a repair on a Base /clear finish I can typically complete the repair and just blend the finish not having to respray color over the whole panel which helps with not having a color mis match between panels. With a base clear finish you typically lay 3 coats of color and 3 coats of clear where as with a solid color it's typically 3-4 coats of color and your done saving time and materials.

As others have stated, white will hide scratches, nicks, dings, etc, better. Also cooler in summer. The downside if you park in an area with a lot of birds, especially pigeons, white is a magnet for bird crap.

I ended up with white. It was my 3rd choice when I was looking, but I'm really loving it and it's really easy to keep clean.

Shit... had I'd known the white is single stage, I would've have considered it more strongly as an option. The longevity of single stage paint is something that should be strongly considered. No worries of clear coat failure. I amazed on how a good polish and wax job will bring a 30 year old SS paint back to life.

I got the MGM though. It's my favorite color for a car. It does show dust and scratches much more than white though. But man, on a sunny day with the washed and was MGM... It's a beautiful sight.

Oh... and the wife thinks white trucks look too "utilitarian".

I've driven white trucks exclusively for well over 20 years, but jumped to MGM for my new Tacoma. Couldn't be happier.
But a pro or sport in super white is georgeous, too.

MGM no question, used to own a white pre runner and got tired of how plain the white looked
