I wanted to move the Vsc switch to an open spot on the lower row of the driver side control panel with the larger sized switch hole. The new switch is a latch and I believe I need a momentary. I ordered a new switch from CH4x4 and soldered it in accordance to this thread:

When I press the new button my VSC indicator on the instrument panel activates for a moment, and then deactivates itself. Is this because my wiring is wrong or because the switch needs to be momentary? Thanks!

The OEM button is momentary, but there are times where pressing & holding activate different options.

You could check by turning your new button on then off again to see if VSC stays illuminated.
