Need help with 2003 dash disassembly

I'm trying to replace the bulbs in my dash cluster. I've watched several videos about this and whenever they get to the point where they are disconnecting the hazard lights, dash light dimmer knob, and RR Diff locker they don't show exactly how they are getting them disconnected. I don't want to force something and break the 16 year old plastic. Any help appreciated! Also any helpful hints or experience with doing this appreciated!
