    Hi all,
I've recently been having some engine problems with my 2006 Tacoma 2.7L. A few months ago, oil consumption went up to about a quart every 75 miles. There is light grey/whitish smoke coming from the exhaust, but no overheating or real loss of power. I changed out the valve cover gasket, and PVC valve but it still burns oil out the exhaust. It does seem to smoke more when I accelerate from off idle in neutral. Besides this, the truck runs fairly smooth. Any ideas on what to look for? Could it be valve guides or piston rings? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks

I don't know if this is a good idea they sell High mileage motor oil for engines over 75k miles, supposedly it swells up all the seals in the engine to stop leakage, I seen a 0w20 high mileage oil at walmart Supertech brand, 5qts. $14 might be worth a shot when your due for a change, it might slow consumption down

A quart every 75 miles is completely unacceptable. Do a compression check. Sounds like your rings are giving up
