Yesterday I had a license plate light go out on me, it's done it before and all I did was take the bulb out and bend one of the metal tabs inwards for a better connection. Like a fool I did it with a screwdriver while my truck was running and it caused a short.

    What's not working:
    License plate lights

Tail lights, only the signals work when I put them on

Headlights, only my main HID and DTRL, my halos aren't working

I've checked every fuse for a break and there isn't one, any chance one of the box relays can be related to what isn't working? Thanks guys

Did you cheack all the fuse boxes. Theres 2 or 3 different boxes. It should just be a blown fuse from that accidental short.

Replace the fuse for the circuit. Just because it checks out OK doesn't mean it's still good.

I'm completely clueless when it comes to electrical on a vehicle. What circuit would it be to take out the stuff I listed and all at once?

    Reserected from the dead.
There is a fuse box in the cab near the driver foot well. I'm betting you will find that bad fuse in that area.

Were you able to drive the truck? Usually when this fuse goes, you can't get the truck out of park.

Should be able to get it now, thanks for the help guys! I can drive but not having brake lights isn't exactly the safest thing :fingerscrossed:

All fixed!! The fuse didn't look broken but I replaced it and everything is back to normal! Thanks everyone, TW saves again

Had a similar thing happen with a trailer light fuse. It was the fuse box under the hood for me though. The fuse looked completely fine. I ended up trying to diagnose a bunch of other shit before making it back to the same fusevthat looked "fine"... Well it was the fuse. Haha. I felt pretty dumb after hours of trying to figure it out. Its just a good reminder to everyone who reads this... ALWAYS check with a fuse you know is good. Ill usually pull a fuse of the same amperage of something on the truck i know is working. Windshield wipers etc... Ill test the windshield wipers before and after i pull the fuse just to be sure i know that fuse im using to test is perfectly okay and it makes sure i pulled the right one. And i do all this to avoid swapping in a store bought fuse thinking that its perfectly good working order, just to find out the one right out of the box is shit too. This can cause EXTREME headaches, paranoia, and even death. Lol. Good job on fixing it!

Scared with what he'd end up doing with it. Lol just start jamming it in any hole.

I am having the same problem, however i have checked and replaced fuses/relays, and i still have nothing. I just ordered a $440 part (junction block 82730-04040) to try to fix mine. Other problems i have are...
    • no a/c control back lighting
    • no steering wheel control back lighting
    • no running tail lights (brake lights/turn signals/backup lights do work!)
    • no licence plate lights
I have taken it to the dealer ship to have is diagnosed and they said it was this block.... non refundable too BTW. So if it does not fix my problem then im SOL! "so i got that going for me... which is good" - Bill Murray
