Can anybody help me identify what this is, or is used for?

I assume its weather stripping maybe for the previous owner's camper or something. I need to put something in its place because there will be tons of residue. One end started peeling up and it looks like the guy used gorilla glue. The other thing is, the foam strip is flush on the side i took the pic of but lacks about 1 in being all the making it all the way to the other side.

If its just weather stripping, I could probably just buy more and rip off whats there and replace. Any ideas???

You're talking about the foam on top of the front bed wall, right? Yeah, the previous owner probably had a camper shell or something on there. The way Toyota built the 2nd generation beds the front wall is a little lower than the rails on the sides. So depending on the manufacturer of the shell and how their molds and lay-up work the bottom may be flat and would leave a gap in the front, thus foam to seal it.

If you want to remove it you can. I have good luck with Goo Gone to remove adhesive residue.
