Need help with knock

    That chain tensioner sure is far out. You can crank the engine and watch it.

    Heck you can remove it and see if it holds any pressure. They are fairly easy to get at.

    It is far out. And looking at this picture below, the oil stain on the tensioner recently changed.

    I'm going to slap the other motor I've built for it in its stock just 10-10 on the crank and a cherp rebuild kit from eBay I had my machine shop look at the pistons that came with the kit because they were some od brand but fingers crossed u get what you pay for and it was 400$ so well see while I rebuild the motor that's knocking I'll update yall on what it was

    I've slowly turned it over by hand and watched every valve and I've checked the mains and rods with plastic gauge I've even jumped the starter relay and watched it top to bottom you can hear the knocking lightly while on starter power but nothing like when it's running truly a mystery to me typically I'm able to diagnose these things pretty easily this one has been a mystery to me I'll find out once I start rebuilding it First Step tear down Second Step Off to the Machine Shop get hot tanked and ground for 10:10 I'll probably get it honed or bored 30 over depending on what the shop thinks

    But I tell you I'm sure not mad at this 2.4 2 RZ I've boosted everything from 1.6 Hondas to 440 dodges and nothing reacted better to a turbo than this 2 RZ
