I have followed all the post on the drain and fill it didnot seem that bad since I have been chaining my own oil for years. here is my problem, I measured the amount of trans oil I took out about 3.4 qts. replace it with 1/2 qt more, did the OBD jumper and waited for the AT temp light to stay on, (better half helped) when it came on, open the check plug, no fluid came out ? Shut it down and added 1/2 more fluid, next day did the same ATF temp check again no fluid out of the check port so now it 4qts total that has been add and still no trickle of fluid, So what should I do next add a 5th qt? that sounds like a lot.. I should add I bought the Tacoma used with 46000 miles on it and it appear that it has never been touch on the Transmission, So what have I done wrong and what should I do now??? Thanks for all the help ...

    welcome to TW

turck is on level ground, just checking
check the radiator for ATF leaking in and mixing or any other leaks?
radiator replaced at some point and ATF was not added to replace what was in the radiator maybe
there are some reports of underfill from the factory but not this much

Add another quart. Start up, open the check plug. It doesn't have to be up to temp yet. First step is to get it overfilled. If it comes out of the check plug cold, you know you are overfilled.
Then do the temperature process as a final step.

You have to have the truck running to check the level. It's also not good to have too much oil and drive it around.

I wish to thank all that posted a reply on my problem with transmission fluid, A special thanks to 2WD hit the nail on the head, It was low from the factory about 1qt and 3/4s, filled it with a extra and did what
ran the engine and checked the level had it come out, closed and waited until it cooled down and did the OBD jumper until temp light came on and opened and removed excess until trickle, So had a scary moment
until all helped arrived Thank you all so much.. will post pic of my ride later.... Glad to have it back...
