Need HELP with my new stereo!

So my new JVC KW-R500 came today with everything and a mounting kit, but the factory mounting brackets do not fit onto the new stereo. Idk what to do 2nd gen taco btw

Hey man if you're having problems I highly recommend you call crutchfield because they are well known for their excellent phone support. It'll be way better than sitting here and hitting the refresh button waiting for a reply.

 

That's weird, my Pioneer AVHP-1400 lined up perfectly with the factory metal brackets, I thought all headunits were universal. Call JVC and let them know.

 

you could always check a local stereo shop maybe they can help thats what i would do

 

I'll be calling crutchfield this weekend. I really like this unit and I hope it works out

It's been my experience that HU's are designed for universal fit. They'll have several threaded mounting holes in the chassis and some combination of the holes will line up with your factory/aftermarket brackets. GL!

 

Thanks. I think this unit slides for different screw holes so the bracket can fit, but idk how if it does

 

Got it! I now have it all hooked up now.
