I just bought a new 15 tacoma DCSB 4x4. I am curious if i can run 285/70/17 tires on bilsteins 5100 in the front set at 2.5 with stock coils? I am going to buy aftermarket 17's with the correct backspacing but i would like to know if that set up will work to fit those tires and save some $$$ . And also if i leave the rear stock will that look ok or will i need a AAL. If anyone has pics of this set up that would be AWESOME!!!!!

    Thanks,
    Matt

I think at 1.75 you might be just a tad nose high, if not it may still look that way. So if you don't mind that then don't worry about the AAL. I think you will need to do quite a lot of trimming to fit 285s with that lift. I got 3" and had to trim quite a bit...

    Too few to list.
I actually had the 5100's set at 1.75" with 285/70r17's before changing my coils out as I moved up in size and had not received the coils (OME 885) yet. On road, they rubbed only when on full lock and backing up but it's doable though I did have the plastic trimmed.

Get the 5100/OME bundle kit from headstrong offroad! That's what I got and I love it! Cheap too

Vanaltaco, how you like those 887's? I'm leaning towards those

you will rub.... i have yet to see a 285/75R16 sized tire (or what ever the same size is in a 17in rim) fit without rubbing of some kind. Inner fender for sure... and if you actually flex your truck... pinch weld, cab mount chop and flare cutting / removal will be in your future.

If its a mall crawler it might be a little easier, it will still rub though.

285 70 17 nope not with 1.75. I am sure it can be done though. I have a 3" lift and run the same size tire and had to remove the fenders, cut a ton of plastic/remove it and cut a lot of the cab mount. Still working on cutting out all of the cab mount and beating the pinch weld back.
