Sorry i was gone for a bit.

Looks like you're going in the right direction.

The change from gray to blue makes it less depressing for sure!

Hey Dean, you might also want to change the color of your links based on which page you're on. You can switch them either with CSS or as hyperlinks (among other options). Or switch out your text links with something you create (you can even shadow it to display something on hover, on click, etc). I can PM you the link to my wife's website if you need an example. Otherwise, it looks pretty cool for a first time.

Working on a header right meow. Just added some TACO pictures behind the content area. Looked a bit bland up there.

You definately needed a header. Footer's are pretty customary as well, that's mainly to increase ease of site use and content for SEO which your not going for, but it may help it to be more complete.

I really like the first lime green/black color combo. The new header with the taco in it is much better. I like search bars at the top like you have it rather than on the side, having to scroll beneath the fold just to navigate the site should not be so.
And yeah you might wanna work on gathering all your content first then work your columns/rows/div tags/css around that.
That poem is bad ass, did you do that?

    Good job man

I might as well chime in here, as I did work for a website development firm for 2 years.

You will want to add either a sub navigation or some way to indicate what page you are on, it makes it simple to view, understand and will impress your prof.

as one guy said earlier, watch your white space, when you had the text surrounded by black it pulled the viewers eye away from the content to the white space, which was on the right hand side of the page, thus missing all your content.

The blue hue does make it look better, then the all black and grey.

One of the new trends is to put an image faded out behind the content, it is a way to really make the content area have some personality.

Use color to catch the persons eye, and focus it upon the content area. The lime green heading are nice but you need to bring that into the content area also, build a connection throughout the page, don't have the appearance of individual elements with no connection.

Word of advice, look at sites you really like, grab elements from those sites and then use colors and fonts which pull them all together.

    Good luck with your project!

Thanks for the input guys, this is the final outline that I'm gonna work off. It is something I'm comfortable with, and from here on out I'm gonna be blending in my content and text. It may not be an official looking page, but for the parameters of this project and it being my first time, I'm fairly satisfied with the outcome.

And to answer the poem question, it is "I have a Rendezvous with Death" by Alan Seeger. Great poem, wish it was my own haha.

Way better now then the start. Don't know Much besides simple HTML stuff, but urs looks good. Only this that caught my eye right away, just from a viewers point, is the two "designs". I would maybe get rid of the left one and jut leave the logo. But of its part of your logo, then hmm...

Yeah, I've noticed it too. Knowing me, I'll still tweak this page, but that is something I'm torn about.

I'm gonna fill it with content, and then see how it looks when it's all done.

It does look a bit excessive/repetitive, but idk if I want to make it part of the logo. haha. decisions decisions

Ya for sure. With content there will be more to draw away from that. But then again, your professor is prob just looking to see u know how to use the program and what not. and wouldn't say "two "designs", I don't like that," and dock u points...

    Great ideas Ron, thank you

Lol yeah, it's more of a "beginner" class. I'm the only one who is every close to producing a finalized item like this (not trying to sound cocky). She's more looking for the blending, content, and effort. But I want the best overall design I can have, so I'll take ANY criticism that can be thrown my direction
