Need help with rear diff problem

    No chance there would be a total brake failure because of this, but I do agree. Reduced braking performance, or grabbing rear brakes are certainly a possibility, which could cause a far bigger issue than the cost of a set of shoes.

    i had more than the usual metal shavings left over in the drain pan after i rebottled the old diff oil i drained out yesterday. a little IMAG1282_1.jpg worried, looks like maybe some copper from a bearing and shavings from a gear? what you guys think? should i be worried? sorry pic has so much glare, but the oil kept showing a reflection :) the metal bits are at the top center of pic which is the edge of the pan.
