My Recirculation Button doesn't completely seal the outside air outside. Happened ever since my mechanic fixed the a/c blower noise. Want to tackle this job myself. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

I would start by making sure the button is plugged in completely and if so follow the wires. Probably end up taking your whole dash apart to find the problem. sorry not much help

Need some ideas. I already checked fuses, cabin filter, wire harness and still not working. I drive by a trash dump on the way to work each morning. Would be nice to not smell it. thanks for any advice.

ur mechanic did the new blower motor and noise kit? like at the dealership, its a tsb.... that entails, obviously removing the blower motor, i wonder if something got up into the heater box where the blend doors are and/or fresh/recirc door. if its not sealing, may need a door... the door has a little seal on it. or something is blocking the door from closing all the way or the door motor isn't moving all the way....
lots of possibilities. id drop the motor out and check out if u can see the door that actuated with the recirc/fresh button and go from there

Just remove your glove box and make sure the flapper moves when you play with the recirculation button. If not, they might have broken the cheap motor that activates it.

thanks guys I will try that. It is hotter than heck in Houston and this will help keep the cabin cooler. Doesn't help that my truck is black with leather seats.

    lotsoftoys
-didn't realize there was a tsb until after I had gotten it fix...oh well.

Does anyone know where the a/c cabin recirculation flap/door is located? Does anyone have a pic? Thanks in advance. Tired of smelling the nasty air outside when I drive past the garbage dump.

Here you go, the official name of the control motor is AIR MIX CONTROL .
    Use this link http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/FJ/RM/RM0240U/Air Conditioning.pdf
It is for the FJ, but it is like the tacoma model also. Go to the air conditioning manual and scroll down to Page: AC 41 and look at drawing #86, it will show you the two controller motors, the top one is for the Mode selection, and the bottom one is for the Air Mix control.
Remove your glove box and look inside your dash, on your right will be your blower motor and on your left will be the Air conditioning module. You will see the two motor on the side of Air conditioning box.
Now Scroll down to Page: AC 45 and listed there will the procedure to test your Air mix control door. THis should be what you need to fix your AC.

    GOOD LUCK.

Thank You Frank for the link to the instructions.

I had some time to mess with the truck today-got lots of things done! :)
It was just a loose wire, clip wasn't completely snapped in. Feels like a new truck and no bad odors coming into the cabin. Lived with the bad odors for over 2yrs! Geez! lol. Other things I got done today was mirror blend mount my Valentine One with cheap parts from Home Depot.-beats spending 80plus bucks for the custom one sold online. Also, got my DICE adapter to finally work! Been a productive Tacoma Day!
