I was thinking about buying a set then I looked at my scrap pile of metal and I have the following:

    2" square 0.125" wall three 9' pieces 27' total
    3" square 0.125" wall two 9' pieces 18' total
    3"x3" 1/4" angle three 9' pieces 27' total
    8" wide 9' long 1/4 plate
    6" wide 9' long 3/8th plate
    12" wide 4 long 1/4 diamond plate 2 pieces

I also have a bunch of 1/2" plate for gussets and so on as well as misc c-channel (1/4" stuff) and so on.

This is it before getting into pretty stupid stuff like 2" solid bar, tool steel, 20" pieces of 6"x6" 1/2" angle, i-beams and so on.

I much prefer the look of square so that's not an issue for me. If I had another piece of the 2" square this would be easy design wise but I'd like to stick with what I have so I'm only into them for my time. Can you all attach any pictures of a design you think may work? This is something I want more just in case and as a jack point than to actually slide down rocks. I don't offroad much with it, more take it into rugged areas while in the course of other hobbies but I'm often pretty remote without cell reception so I like having the tools needed to stay safe.

I have a cold saw, every welder known to man and the tools needed. I just know you all can think of a better design than I can.
