Pretty sure LA has some chop shops. Pay the cholos a few bucks and they'll get it free.

^ Ty, I will attempt to figure this out myself as I'm hard headed like that. If needed, I'll walk into a shop with my tail tucked between my legs for assistance.

I do appreciate everyones quick response and I will indeed check to see if my neighbor will be home to lend me a hand. My wife is useless when it comes to this and would only critique and hand out instructions with no prior experience.

Thanks everyone and I can't wait to tackle this soon before the game starts tonight at 6pm.

I will ask my neighbor for a hand after attempting it myself. I'll just lay it down on my grass and have a real go at it. Hopefully my neighbor will then see my struggle and volunteer his mighty small/average manly hands. He is a rock climber. . .

Just bolt it back up and take a BFH to the spindle. It will pop right off. I have been doing it this way on many different vehicles for over 40 years. Good luck.

If you have the coordination, two hammers hitting each side of the spindle at the ball joint stud. 3 or 5 pound hammers work well.

You guys are amazing! I came home and went right to work on them. I brought out my trusty average size hammer and its wasn't a BFG hammer like you guys suggested, but it did the job! I gave it a few hard wacks straight to the spindle and it just came right out.

Now I can complete the install tomorrow night after work as I'm going to enjoy the game tonight.

Thanks again guys as I appreciate all the information.

When using the hammer method with the parts on the vehicle, leave the nut threaded on the bottom of the ball joint shaft a few turns. It keeps the spindle and control arm from separating violently.

^ Awesome but I had it off the truck already. Thinking it would've been easier to remove. I didn't know I had to Joe Pesci the hell out of the actual spindle.

The feeling after wacking the spindle and the upper arm just sliding right out was sooooooo dam rewarding.

    Ab-So-Fn-looooot-Leeeee. . .

Before I gave up as a man and resorted myself to asking complete manly men over the world wide web. I was covered in sweat, failure, and unnecessary grease. I sat in my garage chair staring at the set with such disgust. I sat and drank a beer and slung out a few unpleasant choice words with no discrimination.

I redeemed myself with that feeling once that UCA disembarked itself from the spindle. Words couldn't express that inner joy I had, as I felt such an accomplishment. Would've been higher if I didn't have to ask other Alpha men.

They say its okay for a man to ask another man for directions (puts down the 1995 Thomas map guide). True, as long as you don't need to look them in the eyes.

I can move on with the rest of my week knowing I got this was done and none of you can put my name & face together.

My wife thinks I did all this on my own without any help and we'll keep it that way. I want her to think I'm the manliest man in the house as my 8 year old is trying to over take the throne. Slow down young chap, it's going to only happen once my arthritis kicks in.

    Thank you TW.

    till next time.
