Hi everyone, I need some help. I have a Tacoma 2012 and my wife recently purchased me this:
    https://www.amazon.com/Thule-TracRac-TracOne-Truck-Black/dp/B079BTBMDM

The universal clamps don't seem to fit and are too small. I did some googling and found this thread:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/thule-tracrac-one-mounting-kit.621018/

I followed the advice there and ordered an XKB4. The XKB4 came in today and it is too big, see the gap in the picture attached.

I'm a bit frustrated as everything we've purchased has seemed to indicate it will work with my truck but atlas, they don't. Does anyone have any experience mounting this and can you offer me some advice?

    Thanks

Those clamps look like they would work on a 3rd gen, where the bed is 1" taller, but otherwise still has the same overall dimensions and mounting tracks. You need a 2nd gen clamp that is 1" shorter than that.

The thread you linked is within the 3rd gen forum, so you were steered incorrectly to the wrong clamp.

So are you saying the clamp that came with it will not slide over the rack mount?

The rack and mounting clamps purchased are for the 3rd gen. Tacoma. I had a 2005 Tacoma (2nd gen.) with Thule T375 rack and clamps but they are not compatible with my new 2023 Tacoma. I'm in the opposite situation to you. I've attached (tried to at least) the photos of the mounting bracket/clamp & rack.
