So I know there has been alot of discussion on here about the best winter tires but I'd like to get some of your opinions on what could be the best for me.

I have a 2011 TRD Sport dbl cab short box with 17" rims and I want to get 4 winter tires on rims. They don't make steel rims in 17" size so I'm forced to get 16" steels....(don't want to spend much on rims just for winter rims)

The tires I have on the truck now are P265 65R 17

I have 2 different choices for the new winters on 16" rims....

    245 75R 16 or
    265 70R 16

I have no clue what the best would be....would there be much of a size difference in the 2 ?? Could I get some opinions please?

    Thanks

I like the narrower tire as it cuts through snow/slush better.

There's 1/10" difference in diameter between the two tire sizes you listed (same size for all intents and purposes). If you're getting dedicated winter tires, I'd go with 245/75R16. As mentioned above, tall, skinny tires are great in the snow and slush.

Besides the size, I won't be much help, I run an A/T tire year round and they perform great in the snow! I'm running Cooper AT3's if you want to go that route.
