    Right, unless you're me :tinfoilhat:

I grew up using K&N filters and didn't know they had dry versions. I thought I was doing the right thing buying and using the recharge kit.

    :duh:

I triple checked the rubber adapters on both ends before tightening them. Might need too again. TBH I was wary about changing this over. Went over the instructions from the seller multiple times and it was fairly straight forward (or so it seemed). Once I fired it up after the install, didn't have any issues. Like I said previously, made a 300 miles round trip on Thursday, and no issues. No dash lights. Nothing. Cruise controlled all the way down the highway and back. Just a strange timing it seems.

Yup, mine was the same way, I drove it back and forth to work for almost a week. The more I drove it though the more I played with the skinny pedal. I miss the sound.

That's an interesting point. You're reducing flow and increasing vacuum to the point of stressing areas with weak seals, to introduce pirated air. OP if it's a lean code, it's the filter.

You can get just about any OBDII adapter and software/app and they almost all read codes. The two I have are Torque and OBD Scanner.

Yea I mean typically on a hose clamp, when you see the rubber protruding through the openings in the band you'd think it was tight enough. Obviously not though.

I'd check these two areas (circled in red).

    Just an update:

I went home this morning after work, disconnected the negative terminal from the battery, waited about 10-15 mins, reconnected, and for now it seems to have cleared up the issue. I also readjusted the rubber tube and the clamps (tightening them a bit more).

What was so strange was when I was driving home this morning, the TRAC OFF light would go off for a few mins and come back on.

But when I got ready to go to work this afternoon, I drove around a bit extra just for chance, and it never came back on. Hell, I even sat at Sonic Drive in for 15 minutes waiting for a quick bite with AC on and all. Still, no lights or issues.

So I'm hoping the battery reset everything and cleared things up. But knowing my dumb redneck luck, it'll resurface somewhere down the road.

Excellent Jason! I'm a huge proponent of less is more and sometimes, no, most of the time, digging deeper for me only causes more issues.

Drive it a while and see what happens. Don't be tame with it either. Find a safe place and really get on it, but my guess is, you had the slightest amount of air leaking in those spots and that was throwing it off.

    :fingerscrossed:

Hey by the way, thanks for dedicating yourself to protecting us. :oldglory:

Thank you. I appreciate the feedback.

Praying for peace. So much hurt. So much turmoil right now in our country.

I pray every night before I go to work for a mostly "uneventful" shift. A lot of times it is. Some nights, not so much. And the people in larger cities are nearby are teetering, scared, and unsure of the future. And rightfully so. I just can't imagine the pain families on both sides of this debate are feeling now.

Now, as my old preacher used to say, go in peace. Pray for comfort in the coming weeks and days. Our nations needs is now.

    No, thank you.

Like you, I pray every day, for the same things. I also pray because I have family on the force. My nephew has only been on for a little over a year. He's ex military. He's following in his father's footsteps. They are both Baltimore City PD. Right now things are escalating to a time not long ago. Social distancing has taken on a new meaning here. WFH is actually a blessing now.

I also have friends on here that are LEOs. I'd be honored if you were one as well.

Just know, I respect what you do, don't envy the BS you have to deal with and will always have your back.

Everyone knows you can see the codes through the head unit? Or at least I can on the JBL head unit, pretty slick feature.
