I currently own a 2009 Tacoma lifted 3 inches. I am looking into the largest, most importantly the widest tire I can run on the stock 20" TSS rims. I am currently running 33x12.5x17r tires on rims that have an offset. Also, Toyo Open Countries or Nitto Trail Grapplers?!

How much cutting of the truck are you willing to do?

I already shaved the bottom part of the wheel well to fit the previous tires. The less shaving, the better. @KenLyns
Will i be able to run 295/55/20? with the 3in lift?

If you trim enough, anything is possible...

I run 20" 4 runner rims with a 33.7" tall BF Goodrich TA tire. My Rim in REALLY narrow so the tire is too, and i had to trim a lot of the inner fender (its just real thin plastic) and i can clear fine now. if my tires were any wider tho, i would be cutting out the actual fender flare, which i am not cool with. Also my back tire BARELY clears the fender flare, were talking less than an inch when the suspension squats.
