I have a 2013 TRD Sport with an automatic and 265/70/17's (31.6"). I always thought the 3.73 factory gearing is too tall, even with stock tires. Now that I've gone up an inch, it is even worse. My gearing guy says it's not worth the cost to step up to 4.10, and the next step is 4.56. 4.56 is too low, I think, and a 4.30 requires changing the front carrier to accommodate the "thin ring" and pinion. I heard 3rd generation manual transmission trucks have 4.30 gears, which seems like a perfect ratio. Does anyone know if this is a direct front differential (clamshell?) swap? Rear diff 4.30 is available for 8.4 rear, I believe.

I don't intend to increase tire size, and it doesn't see any serious off-roading. Just looking for a noticeable increase in acceleration without dropping the big bucks on a supercharger.

I’m looking for the same thing I would like some recommendations. 2017 v6 auto. 265/75/16 I think with some gears and a pedal commander it will be good.

You will get the thin cut gears and new carrier provided by a reputable company that does a core charge. The carrier break shouldn’t be a reason not to get that ratio.

OVTuning is a good compromise if you don't want to pay for a regear. I wouldnt regear unless you know 100% you arent going to go up to 33/35s in the future because you're gonna want 4.88/5.29 gears in that case and paying for 2 regears would be hell
