This would be going on my 2003 Double Cab TRD/SR5 4x4 3.4L with 247,xxx miles. Looking for mild lift and leveling. Currently have stock set-up with 265/70/R16 tires. Possibly larger tires to "fill'er up"? Good combo?

I've installed 2 of these. You can do it by yourself if you have a day. Make sure you get them to assemble the struts for ya. Works fine as it gives a 2 in. lift.

What would be the next tire size with no clearance issues? And what would be LARGEST size with no clearance issues?

265/75R16 apparently doesn't rub. 235/85R16 for a tall skinny that apparently doesn't rub. Keep in mind, on metric tires the first number is the width of the tread, not the height of the tire.

    Even with a 2" lift?

Lots of threads covering this question. But in short, yeah, even with a lift. You might be able to get away with a 255/85R16, but from what I've seen here you'll prolly still rub somewhere.

Anyone else with any input on the attached set-up? Will it level AND lift?

If you're going with 882 front springs you can fit 255/85/16 with little to no rubbing Look up 255/85/16 1st gen tacoma. Expedition portal has a great write up on fitting them. There is also a thread on 255 fittiment in the wheel and tire section on TacomaWorld. Hope this helps !

Does it "level" the truck out also? I've read that even after installation the rear may still be a little higher unless you add the, I believe, 5/8" spacer over the front coils.

Wheelers Offroad installs the spacer automatically (they did for me on both orders) so that is not a problem. Make sure you install them on the correct sides. It will ride rough for a while until it settles in, but hell, it's a Truck.

Installing these kinds of lifts doesn't give you any additional clearance. If it won't fit stock it won't fit with a lift. You need to be looking at offset wheels if you want to run larger tires.

co lift statement is true. only the ride height is raised. the suspension can still compress to the point as stock and rub.

you want as much bs as possible to fit tires. adding spacers when not needed will make rubbing on body worse...

But you also have to consider suspension clearance on the backside (back spacing), right? And maybe still body rub on the backside?

You want as little backspacing as to keep tire from rubbing frame and uca and as much backspacing to keep tire off the body while turning.

When installing tires remove the strut and cycle the suspension up to the bumps and cut/hammer as needed. 33s CAN fit with no lift and thats how you should clear them. A 3" lift wont help clear tires when your offroad flexed out or bottoming out on a big bump.

Well I'm not going to get THAT radical and take a hammer to my truck. I'm just going for a mild 2" lift and tires that look "appropriate" for the space. This is not a hard-core off roading or rock crawling vehicle.
