So I have Matt Gecko bed lights and led lights mounted under my bumper. They are ground at the back of the truck together and both are wired directly to the battery with an inline fuse. Both have separate switches in the panel to the left of the steering wheel. Have worked flawlessly until I went to use the back lights last night. The lights on the switches work with the headlights on and they both light up when pressed to the "on" position. BUT neither of the lights are working properly. I actually thought they weren't working at all last night but after some research this morning they are actually very dim, to the point they might as well not be turned on. I checked fuses before trying the lights and then thought that they may have an issue with being grounded. I took the wires loose from the frame, filed the area to get a better ground then attached the wires back with the same results. Anyone have an idea what the issue could be? I can't imagine that the lights are bad. I really don't want to check the wiring from front to rear of the truck for issues. Scratching my head at this point. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
Try a direct wire to the battery to make sure that the lights ARE good. If they are, then you gonna have to trace the wiring back to the switches.

Resolved. Bad ground. Doesn't make sense though. Had it grounded there for a while with no issues but now that point doesn't work. Ran wire directly to battery just to check and both lights work great now so I found a better ground at the back of the truck and connected there. Glad I didn't have to check the rest of the wiring.

It is uncanny how often 12v wiring problems end up being related to a grounding problem. I usually just assume that any 12v problem is ground issue to start.
