Installed 1.25" hub centric wheel spacers (Sixity) on my 2001 4WD Tacoma with 2nd gen wheels. Backspacing and turn radius perfect now with no rub 265/75R16 tires.

But front studs only allow me to get 2/3 of the threads on the provided nuts. Used Red locktite, just drove 200 miles with some rough windy roads and checked torque with no change. Am I good? Do I need to worry about getting longer studs? If so how do I do that?

    Any help appreciated...IMG_6354.jpg

Yes get longer studs. The current ones just knock out. Take a hammer and knock them out. Put new ones in the place of the old ones. Easy peezy.

What you should be using are special extended thread nuts not the standard acorn style like this.

Ok thanks for the suggestions. The ET lug nut sounds like a good idea. Durability/ strength about the same as longer studs? Will be doing my front coil overs soon so will add to the list.

Might just be the picture, but make sure the spacer is seated on the hub all the way. If the internal hub size is incorrect on the spacer, then it will not seat all the way and you'll have the issue that you're describing. Most spacers account for stock stud sizes and are about as thick as a normal set of aluminum wheels so you should be engaging more threads that what you are showing. Your issue might be that you have the wrong spacer for your truck.

I know rusty but they are seated tight. Sixity gives a figment guarantee so I will bring it up with them but I have heard longer studs are needed in front sometimes

I'm not saying it's safe but a friend of mine had similar issue with his spacers when he installed them. he eventually forgot about it and eventually rolled his truck a couple of years later. The spacer were still tight when we took them off for his 4runner. I would still recommend new studs or nuts.

Can you clarify that? Sounds like he broke the studs off the spacer not the spacer off the hub? That would depend on quality of the spacer/adapter correct?

I've been using ET lugnuts for about two years now. Haven't had a single issue. I actually bought them as temporary while my extended studs came in, but I've been too lazy to put in the new studs.

These are the ones I bought:

    https://www.summitracing.com/parts/gor-68137l

They grab a hell of alot of thread. Just gotta make sure the openings in the wheel are big enough for the ET part of the lug nut. I had to bore out about 1/16" of an inch on my wheels.
