just bought an 08 tacoma and looking for some performance upgrades. Thinking of k&n system, exhaust, throttle body spacer and maybe even a chip. Just not sure what the best product of each would be. Any help would be appreciated.

K&n drop in filter. The stock setup is a cold air intake.
You can remove the secondary filter if you want, but the gain won't be noticable

Throttle body spacers are useless. If your going to buy one, just give your money to me :)

Exhaust... Seearch. There's a lot of options. In almost every case, you will lose low end and gain a little but of high end power.

By buying the things you planned on, your at around $1000. Save another 2500 and you can buy a supercharger.

I can post an exhaust mod that will definitely free up some restriction. I told my friend Toon about it after I learned about it. He was planning on having a custom catback made, so it worked out well. Outlaw7 and Jap, have both done it since. Noticeable butt dyno improvement, as well slight exhaust note change.

Which generation TRD intake did you purchase? Either way it will help the motor breathe, but the mewest gen, has a slight issue with inducing turbulence across the MAF sensor.

There is a fix from the factory, but I don't know if it has become a TSB. Might not even. Gadget at URDUSA.com also has a fix for it.

The intake will really help with the s/c on there.
