Found this truck today and I am kind of tempted. Looks like my current truck but 4x4 and access cab. Guy wants 9k for it. Has 88k miles and it is a 2003. Or should I just be happy with my PreRunner Tacoma.

it comes down to what you want. Would you like a 4x4? how much do you think you could sell yours for or would you keep yours?

Been thinking about getting a 4x4 and an access cab would be kind of nice although I'm sure I would just fill it with crap. Just put new OME suspension on my truck and new bumper and winch. Guess I could just swap from one truck to another.

Not sure what I could get for my truck. Never really thought about it. Maybe 6500?

as long as the pre runner is a 6 lug, you should be able to swap. If you want it, then I would say go for it. If you are on the fence I recommend try offering the guy slightly less and tell him you have a taco already so you are in no hurry to buy! That is a little bit of a gamble because someone else might take it. That way you may get a newer truck with more option you like, but if he doesnt take your offer you can still be happy with your current one

I would go for the ac 4x4. You will never regret having the extra room or being able to go offroadin.

You might say, "oh... I don't need it now...." but you will be glad to have it when you do need it. (Hopefully that makes sense; I am really tired!)

Going to take a look at the truck today and see if it calls out to me. We'll see.
Thanks for your help so far.

Your shell / canopy / topper should transplant from the Regular Cab to the XtraCab, but there will be a gap because of the different cab wall contour ...

Truck was in fair condition but you really come to appreciate being the only owner of a vehicle when you look at others. Staying with my faithful 2000 although she may be a 4x4 soon.... Thanks for all your comments.
