    Hi all.

I need advice on purchasing a brand new 2015 V6 Double Cab.

I was really in the market for a used Tacoma and couldn't find a reasonably priced one around the Central Texas area so I opened up my search to include new.

I have an offer from a dealer on a red exterior Texas edition with 17" black wheels, black textured side tubes, SR5 package, Entune, Tow package, premium security system, and leather seats for $29,800. That price is after the $1000 rebate from Toyota and includes the destination charge of $950. They basically took $4200 off of the sticker price.

Since the Texas edition is mostly an appearance package I could see how they have room to negotiate. However, the leather charge for the car does seem reasonable as getting katzkins installed I would think would cost about $1300-$1400 as well. The other options seem like there may be 20% to 25% margin.

Does this seem like a good deal? Or should I keep looking? I am suspicious that this deal is either good because the dealership needs to make their quota for a bonus or because they want to move trucks prior to the 2016 model coming into their showrooms. Either way it would make sense. I don't want to be naive and believe that I'm getting a good deal and then feel snake bit afterwards. I can't find reliable information on pricing on line, and being that Gulf States Toyota has options that other regions don't have it is very difficult to do an apples to apples comparison.

I hit the search feature on this site and couldn't find anything relevant right away with the combination of keywords that I used. I appreciate your patience and answers.

Is it 4x4, if so that's a great deal. If its the prerunner it seems in the ballpark average for what people are paying nationwide.

Thanks for the reply. Just pre-runner 4x2. I think the edmunds or true price or whatever site was also saying about 28 to 29 but I couldn't enter options like leather et cetera. And of course, who knows how accurate those sites are. Thanks again.

If you are a COSTCO member try their buying service. I was quoted a price $500 below invoice. Unfortunately I wasn't ready to buy. You can use their pricing tool without being a member.

stbear, thanks for that link. That helps a lot. I looked at their page and plugged in the features they gave me on the new truck. The biggest thing that was super helpful is that they put the invoice price on the Gulf States Texas Edition package. With the leather upgrade and the security system upgrade. I estimate the total invoice price would be right at $31,000. So basically, I paid invoice because there's a $1000 incentive from Toyota and that's how they got me to $29,800. I did okay. Could have been a little better. But not by much it seems.
