Howdy y'all, I need some help or a recommendation on what to do about my Tacoma, I'll give you some background info on it. Over 2 years ago my engine got a crack in it, rendering the truck kaput, so I parked it in my driveway hoping to fix it over the years, never did cause of financial problems. Finally got financially situated this year and decided it was time to make a decision on the truck. It does hold "some" sentimental value, being my 1st vehicle purchase but that's not going to cloud my judgement on what to do with it. I know it's going to need a new engine, possibly a transmission, the brake system including pads, rotor, etc having sat for 2 years in all sorts of weather, tires are flat and bald, A/C could use a flush as well as all fluids. So there you have it, what does the community recommend?

More info: 1999 Toyota Tacoma Pre-Runner 3.5L V6 Xtra-Cab 4x2, it has a little over 181,000 miles on it. What am I looking at $$$$wise to repair, fix it or save my $5k I have in savings and put into next year's tax return fund.

I think it would all depend on what you plan on doing with it. If it was me and would only be a daily driver id prob fix some of the stuff, sell it and start fresh. Now like mine i bought knowing its a build i wont sell. So id rebuild. I hope that helps somewhat lol

I have a 99 Tacoma and wouldn't trade nothing for it because it's over all bulletproof. I had to spend some money on it over the years but it's been worth it and still runs like a champ. Guess it just depends but you have a good one to start with. Chris
