I have a code alarm CA5354 and my lights don't flash either. My DTRL turn on while it's running by being remotely started though

Yes. IF the light switch has been left all the way on when I turned the truck off last.

At this point, I'm thinking I'll just leave it. I don't need the flash. Doesn't seem to cause any harm not having it connected. I capped the end with tape and it is tucked away.

Did you install or someone else? Wondering if you have same deal and that wire isn't connected. My DRLs come on when started if the light switch is left on DRL only.

From what you described, I don't see any reason to be worried. A trick I learNed in school is to take the electrical tape and place the wire half way up, then wrap and fold over. Next take some heat shrink and seal. Creates a nice water tight barrier, not that that matters being in the truck. If your fine with just the horn, go for it.

A good friend of mine is a certified installer put mine in. He couldn't get the lights to flash and I didn't have time for him to track it down so I said screw it.

From my research, the lights are triggered by a negative pulse at the light green wire under the steering column. The reason we can't get ours to flash when the key is off is the module that controls the head lights/parking lights shuts down when the key is off. That way you can leave the head lights on with the key off and they are off till you start it back up. The pulse from our remote module can't actuate the parking lights.....I don't have the knowledge to hack the head light module but thought maybe the hazard switch might be a point to tap into, it's not controlled by the key position..... I will try and see if it will work when I'm off next week I will post if it does or doesn't.

Makes sense. I will probably never take the time to figure it out. Seems to work just fine without the wire attached. I start mine from work and my apt and I can see it out a window. The lights all turn on when it starts so I know it's running. Works for me.

Well, I figured it out Im sure Im not the first one but...the red with white tracer wire that plugs into the back of the clock/hazard switch is the wire to tap into if you want your lights to flash! Both the single and double flash work and the hazards are fine!! Ive attached a pdf of the wiring

Its doable but you had better be sure your not that guy that in a drunken stupor forgets and leaves his truck in gear and starts it up ......makes his house a drive thru by pushing the button

X2 on this advice. A buddy of mine did it in his VW Golf and his gf drove it to dinner. Left it in gear in the parking lot . He started it on the way out and we watched it take off across a parking lot only to be stopped by an innocent Camry. Not cool.

Cool. I may crack into it again this spring when I have more time in the garage. Great info to know. Thanks.
