I bought my tacoma used and the bed rails came with but they were detached and laying in the bed. I need to reattach those rails but can't seem to get the right size screw in there. I called the stealership and they couldn't even order the parts without ordering an entire new deck rail hardware kit for $400! I took it to ACE hardware and tried to find the appopriate screw to just mount them but none of them seemed to work. Is this a specially thread screw or something that I need to order special?

It's metric. Don't know the size though but in your quest for knowledge this is what you do it. Borrow one from some buddies Toyota and take it to a Fastener hardware place. They will be able to match it up in seconds.
