My dad bought a 97 first gen over the weekend. The truck has a 6 inch lift but needs shocks all around. I was just wondering if he can buy regular shocks or of they would need to be different. Any help would be appreciated

The truck has some rear shocks with them saying 'explorer 32950' and the front ones seem to be stock saying Toyota. Any help would be appreciated.

Usually a suspension lift will require taller shocks but a body lift doesn't. Do you know what type of lift you have?

Did a search on the explorer shock an it comes up with pro comp? that may be a place to start looking

I believe it has both a 6 inch lift and a 3 inch body lift.

I edited my post above. Did a search on the explorer shock and it comes up with ProComp. That may be a good place to start looking if they are an extended size or closer to stock. I did a 4" suspension on my dodge and had to get longer shocks so I would think this would be the same but not as familiar with IFS. I'm still learning too

I've got an OME small lift on my 04 and the rear shock is about 19" from bolt to bolt just sitting there. Don't know if that helps or not...

thanks that does help. they seem to be longer than normal but what doesn't make sense is that it still has the same shocks and coils from factory and its lifted that high.
