    Greetings Tacoma owners!

To make a long story short, I have been a daily long time lurker of this site and its time to bite the bullet. I have been looking for a magnetic gray limited 2wd double cab and I have found pretty much every other color in the limited and I FINALLY found one about 5 hours away from me BUT the truck already has 258 miles on it. I am curious if this is normal? I've test driven two 2014 models and I put the first mile on the first one I drove then the other had 6 miles on it. Looking at it, its exactly what I want but I am debating if I should go look at this one or keep looking. I've checked with two dealers who have attempted to locate one but said there are none within a 500 mile radius of them. My second choice would be the silver sky color which those are plentiful seems like it (one of the dealerships had 3 of them)

Better than one I test drive that had almost 2000 miles, and they were tryig to sell as new...... Just get it, coulda been a dealer trade, you can also ask the dealer, and if it was sold and repo'd back because financing didn't go through, then you may get a better deal, because it's used, have them car fax it for you

Grey wire and keyless entry. I like stock.
258 miles isn't anything for a dealership truck. Probably means the salesmen or owner has been using it as a daily driver for the week or something to that extent. I wouldn't let it turn you off buying it.

It was probably a dealer trade.

    Things I need to tow.
When I first saw my truck at the dealer, it had 25 miles on it. A week later when I went to buy it, it had nearly 300. Turns out an idiot salesman had to deliver a truck to a distant location for a disabled customer and he took the wrong one (mine). The disabled customer was seriously upset as he'd driven 150 miles to pick up his truck only to have to turn around and go home without it. The salesman was mortified and the dealership embarrassed. The dealership made him take the correct truck all the way to the disabled customers' home the next day and get back out of his own pocket. The salesman I was working with was caught in the middle, but threw in the front skid plate and a bed mat to compensate so I wouldn't go somewhere else. (The truck I bought was the only one like it in three states and I didn't want to start over.) My salesman was a stand up guy and I'd buy from him again because he was honest with me and risked the sale to tell me the truth. There are some good ones out there.

Thanks for the replies. Really was a lot running through my head but you guys really reassured me. I'd hate to start the search over because it took me long enough to find this one. I've only seen one on the street but didn't think it'd be so hard to find a magnetic gray limited :/ Now looking like I'll be making a trip on Saturday morning :D

Removed factory bed cover and installed UnderCover Elite. Added LOCKERDOWN console safe.
Several hundred miles is not out of line at all. Dealer trades is the norm. More so in a product like a tacos where the number is low on the lots. Most of our trucks can have that.

I'd say get it, but have them throw in a bed mat or side steps or something. I think they would agree to that. worth a shot.

My '05 had 400 and change on it. They had to trade an access cab for the double cab I wanted. It came from NJ and I'm in MA. the DC's were very scarce when they came out, everyone wanted one. My deal almost dudny happen because the other dealer didn't want to trade. I was worried about the engine break in having some lot kid hot rod it back to MA, but my truck has been very reliable.

That's a non issue at 258 miles, considering it has a warranty and you will put at least that many miles driving it home.
