    6" RC lift
First time here, recently purchased a 2008 tacoma and had the passenger side mount of my steering rack completely snap. The truck has a 6" rough country lift on it currently. My theory is that because of the lift is causing such an intense angle for the rack/tire rods that on a specific turn I made it put all the pressure on the passenger side mount causing it to snap. I have since replaced the rack and am now trying to look into ways to prevent this from happening again. While talking to someone I know who's familiar with lifted trucks he suggested that I replace the cut crossmeber with a new/used one and get a different kit with a max of 4". After calling rough country they said that I would be able to replace just the spacers with their 4" versions and that it may help the angle of the tire rod to the knuckle just a little bit, but is not necessarily a guaranteed fix for the problem. I've also heard the suggestion of getting an upgraded bushing kit for the rack and that it may also help with the issue. The third suggestion I got was to find a tire rod extension to help it deal with the angle better. I made this post in the hopes of getting some guidance from others that are more knowledgeable on the topic than I am. Do you think that having the spacers replaced would help and if so should I continue to go with rough country or should I look to a different manufacturer? It maybe a combination of all 3 suggestions but I wanted to avoid having to replace the entire crossmeber and undo the lift entirely because that would drive my costs way up for all the components that would need to be replaced.
