uuugggggghhhhh..... like most things in life, looks like i'm going to have to put some time and effort into this if I want it done right. can somebody just snap their fingers and lift my truck, post that magical link to a lift kit.

at this point i'm in need of tires, like right now because I have very little tread on them, was going to go up to the 265/75 because I know I can without any modifications, but i guess my question is, if I lift 2"-3" could I go to a 265/80?

You guys are right. Don't listen to me. Because hes totally going to break his shocks while jumping backflips off 20ft dunes. Not just putting around. :annoyed:

265/ 75 is a good size to run. You can fit them on a stock six lug second gen without problems. They also look good on a lifted truck. I ran that size before, and for awhile after, lifting.

If you want the homework done for you, just copy what someone else with your same truck has done already. Just find someone with the same truck - reg, access, or double cab (if double cab, then long/ short bed applies). Your visible profile shows that you have an '02 - that's a first gen, not second. If your looking to lift a gen 2, then look in the gen 2 builds or PM with someone who has the same truck. If you're looking to build your '02, then look at the gen 1 builds and talk to folks over on the first gen forums.

A 2" spacer lift is fine. Especially for minimal off-roading. It obviously offers no performance enhancement, but will lift/level your truck and clear a larger tire.

If you're looking for an improved off-road setup the 5100's and some new coils will be the next best option, but it will cost you.

this is the answer i'm looking for. not looking for any sort of off road enhancement other than just a little more clearance.

stupid question here. do the spacers only go on the front or do I need spacers for both front and back?

another stupid question, i usually like to do most of my work, but I don't think i want to try this one since i'm just a weekend warrior with minimal tools, but is this costly process if I have a mechanic do it for me?

Spacers in the front only. A shop should be able to install them in under an hour if they're competent and honest.

Low Range Off Road offers some good spacer lifts, which are fine for road work, and hauling fire wood.

There is a lot of hate for spacers on here, but if you aren't going to hit the trails hard they will be just fine...and it's definitely going to be the cheapest route. I don't think you will bust a shock like that on a country road with a 2" spacer lift...

That said, I have the kit linked below on my 07 double cab and I absolutely love it.

Well if you're looking for a rake like it has from the factory you will need to lift the rear somehow. From cheapest to best, blocks, single AAL, progressive AAL, full leaf pack, spring under axle, etc etc.

Technically bro lean^ rake is the opposite with the ride height being higher in the back and lower in the front

the best advise is going to come from @geekhouse23 . What he says might be more expensive but it is going to be the best for your truck in the long run. I personally have a spacer lift right now, but I am saving up for a full suspension. Best advise I could give you is save up and do what is best for your truck.

    Thank you! :humble:

There are a few options for the rear..

You have airbags, single AAL, progressive AAL and a full leaf pack replacement. The full leaf pack replacement will be the best of those option

Thank you for having the best advice about lifts on here. I am doing an AAL and full leaf pack replacement probably. I am going to end up doing a drop bracket lift for 6" being that my truck is very rarely off road! What is your opinion on that. I have never read you talking about a drop bracket
