This would be a drop bracket lift. Rough country, bds, and a few other make them for tacomas. Yes aal is add a leaf. The one that you linked would be a difficult add if you are gonna do it your self. They have ones that will replace all of the stock ones and come with the leafs already added.

OP I have been running a 3 inch spacer lift for 6 months, and I take my truck down dirt roads and in the woods like you're talking about. No problems so far, but there is always a risk.

Diff drop is useless on 2nd gens. For running back roads, I still wouldn't put it on.

AAL = add a leaf, yes.

Get 5100s and a progressive AAL at the VERY least..I am guessing your leaf pack might be shot so a new pack might be a cost effective solution. Otherwise, you are just putting a bandaid on the inevitable.

Because they come that way from the factory. 2nd gen rear springs suck. Add a leaf, air bags, are all fixes for stock leaf springs. Temporary fixes, they'll still sag out and loose arch, or in our case, go into negative arch.

I say go long travel. It might be more expensive, but at least you'll have it. :bananadance:

OP just keep in mind that if you crank down your coils to lift with the 5100's your ride WILL be effected. Bilstein doesn't recommend the use of aftermarket coils with their 5100's and don't warranty them when used together. Some shops won't even install them due to this. Just making sure you know all of the facts.

BTW plenty of people have broken 5100's and it had nothing to do with spacers. If you wheel hard enough you can break anything.

that is exactly what I did and in total with the strut/shocks and then bigger tires it gave me about 3 inch lift. Well for now I am going to be converting to long travel very soon. OP for the set of billies it was like $250 or so I recommend going this route

Ok, so I just got new tires and I got a look at my leafs when they had it jacked up. they were flat as a board, hardly no arch to them at all.

Im in the same boat as the original poster. The 5100s are adjustable? and how is the ride compared to the stock ones on a trd sport? Im not looking to replace my leafs but wouldn't mind doing the AAL. So from what I read doing this would give me like a 2 inch lift?
