    I’m finally getting a Tacoma!!!!
I live in flat Florida where I’ll mostly be using the truck to haul a small 16’ sailboat down the street, beach driving, and maybe some muddy trails a couple times per year for camping etc.
    1) I’m wondering if the SR 4x4 will be enough truck for that.
    2) If I did take a trip to the smokies for a couple weeks, what could it handle there? Steep incline climbing?
    3) Is the SR basically an off road trd without locking diffs, crawl and all the fancy stuff? Same 4x4 power right?
I really want the off road trd but it’s a little out of my price range. I’ve been stalking the forum for a couple of weeks and yall have some really good ideas, what do you think?
    Thanks

Mine has been to 11-12,000 feet with no problems.

Of course, I have the 2.7 four cylinder. YMMV.

You will be completely fine in Florida with the SR 4x4.

It would also be fine going through the mountains and inclines. If your doing serious off-roading in the mountains yea you might wish you had the off-road features of the TRD but how often will you be doing that? I’ve seen people absolutely beat the hell outta their SR 4x4’s and they keep going.

If you really want the TRD OR though maybe consider buying used? Shop around a ton and get multiple dealers bidding against one another. You’d be surprised how good of a deal you can get. Especially now that we’re getting into the time where the 19’s will be getting shipped out you could probably work a great deal out on an 18 if you work it right.
