Alright guys, first a little background, I lost 65 lbs when I was a freshman in high school, went from 255 to 190 at 5'9" tall (I was a fat kid :)). I stopped there and never really lost any more but I have never worked out much either. I do concrete construction so I am pretty active and generally tired when I get home from work.

I need some help and some serious advise. I have wanted to loose some more weight for a while and on top of that I'm getting married on Aug 4th and would like to loose some weight for that. That gives me about 3 months. As far as a work out my buddy gave me all the p90x cds so I was going to start those (thoughts?). Here is where I have very little knowledge, FOOD. I have no idea what to eat that will give the best results as far as what to eat and what is better to stay away from. Having said that I'm not a retard though and know that sugar and beer etc. should be avoided. Help me out here guys? Maybe start with what you have experienced.

Also, I am going to post every day after my work out to try and keep motivated. All comments and advise are welcome!

    Thanks guys

As far as what to eat, obviously you want to eat a well-balanced diet with low fat and low refined sugars. However, the obvious rule for weight loss is that if you ingest less calories than your burn in a day, you will lose weight, regardless of what it is you are eating.

IMO, given your stated goals, you will likely have the best chance for success if you get a subscription at a local gym and have a personal trainer. They keep you motivated and don't let you quit.

You can achieve the goals on your own, but the chances of success are not high as it gets too easy to become disenchanted when things do not move as quickly as you want them too. You need someone to keep you motivated when you feel like quitting or just get lax in your exercise and eating routines. They also can work out a diet that is right for you.

As far as programs like P90x, TRX, etc..they are good routines. But most people will not follow them and stick with the routines unless they are in a group environment. The CD's and such for home use do not do much to motivate you when you get tired of it or don't feel up to it that day. Your best chances for long-term success are going to come from a gym subscription and group enrivonment combined with a personal trainer.

Most P90x CD's and abmasters and exercise equipment people buy for home us end up un the attic unused after a month or so. That is not to say people do not have success on their own by buying such things. But it is the exception, not the rule. You need someone to keep you motivated and keep you on the equipment.

When you have someone yelling, "Give me another half-mile on the tread" and other people are watching, it's the difference between doing it or just saying F it, I am tired, and turning off the CD. Most trainers won't let you quit unless you just walk off and say F it, this isn't for me.

eating "right", and all that is very important, ..but i think the biggest problem some people have is not getting in the habit of working out regularly... make working out a part of the weekly routine,... whether you do it twice a week or six times a week, just making it in is the biggest part of the battle... once you've got it in your routine, ...the key is to change workout patterns (exercises, reps, cardio, etc.) fairly often to keep from getting in a rut...

-Cut your calorie intake to 1800 daily.
    -Drink water and only water.
-Do not eat anything that has preservatives, cooked in oil and anything that is high in sugar or anything that has sugar. Eat 5-6 meals a day that is the size of your palm.
-Exercise daily! at least and hour. If you have a day off from work or school, try to bust out a "two-a day"
-Be more proactive. IE: Instead of taking the escalator, take the stairs.

Diet is 80%, Working out is 20%
You should check with your physician first but for a little extra push in my day I use RoxyLean to help with the diet part and A-HD for the working out part.

RoxyLean is an exact ratio of ingredients which may help support a long lasting, non-jittery, weight loss experience.

A-HD is a novel compound Testosterone Boosting Agent.

Last but not least, Motivation pictures or something that will drive you to what you want to see.

    Good luck brother.

Quick story about me. Got up to 240 pounds 3 years ago, lost 60 pounds by not eating any sugar and only really eating standard breakfast, stir fry and pasta. Swam a kilometer almost everyday. Got a gf, gained back 20 pounds in 2 years. Lost the gf and started an actual diet system combined with swimming again. Lost 18 pounds in one month.

    That diet system was http://whole9life.com/2012/01/whole-30-v2012/

Basically Meat, Veggies and fruit. I would recommend it to anyone.

    3 months?

do that (old school now) BODY FOR LIFE thing. i went from 220 to 175 in 3 months. i have now reached equilibrium at about 195..

you cannot really sustain that BFL thing in real life. eating 6 small meals a day working out like a maniac.

i freaked my family out. they must have thought i was on drugs or something. i took Polaroids throughout the process.

That is alot of weight in a short amount of time. With a balanced diet and a solid workout routine don't expect to lose more than 8 to 10 legitimate pounds a month at your current size. The biggest part is just making the lifestyle change to eating right. This is where alot of people fail and gain the weight back. The fad diets are the wrong way to go about creating a healthy lifestyle.

it was. that is why it isnt sustainable.

i worked out 6 days a week. alternating between lifting and cardio days. it was brutal.

i ate tiny meals every 2.5 hours. i was never really hungry, but never satisfied.
helped that i did the program with a hot chick, ex-stripper.\

now i just jog, bike..and eat right. cut back on sugar, and dumb carbs. i feel pretty good.
