I changed the air freshener to a new one, one time.
So I’ve been reading through post after post and trying to wrap my head around tire sizes but the time has come to ask everyone for a bit of help.. I have an ‘01 Tacoma ext cab with about 2.75” of lift all around. I’m looking at getting some new wheels and tires:

    Wheels: Mickey Thompson Classic III
    - 15” wheel
    - 8” width
    - 3.625 bs

    Tires: Cooper stt pro
    - 33x12.5x15

Now I’ve read that the bs on the Thompson’s is perfect for that size tire and also read that people still get frame rubbing with similar size tires. I’m looking for no frame rub and wanting to make sure these tires will tuck when wheeling. I’m aware I’ll have to do some trimming and pinch weld modifications. Just looking for some over all info of this combo will either screw me or do me for the better

Keep stock tire size but with really good tires instead of new wheels. And keep the extra money for other mods

The rubbing is from both too large of tires and incorrect backspacing. Unless your someone willing to install spacers. I used to have 2008 Tacoma sport wheels on my first gen. Even with the correct tire for that rim, it rubbed on my frame. They were 1/2 wider and a completely different offset. I now have the 16" TRD pro wheels. I found this to be a perfect rim for the first gens. Factory offset was 15mm on the 7" wide rims, the TRD pro is 13mm and also 7" wide.
