You have to buy a bunch of grommets and clips for the fender and flares because they broke?

I had an old xj Cherokee that I line x'd the whole thing. It looked bad ass and took a beating but added a ton of weight.

What clips did you order from Amazon? I took the back passenger fender off of my truck the other day and of course broke all the clips. I ordered some clips and put them on the truck last night but I couldn't get my flare to snap on in several of the locations. Wondering if I should have snapped them on the flare then attached them to the truck... I should have taken a picture because about three of the clips were orange and slightly different sized and the rest were blue when they came off. The ones I ordered where all the same size and wondering if it matters or if that is where my trouble is coming from getting the fender back on.

Here are the parts that i ordered:

    Front Moulding: 53853-04040 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FWPHRBS
    Read Moulding: 75659-04050 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BJLWPAC
    Blue Clips: 75396-35020 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GHQJNRC
    Orange Clips: 75397-35010 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IKPEX0A

Its a lot easier to put the clips in the flare before attaching to the truck. I learned that the hard way...

Also here are images of the clips. I cant remember which one the "grey" one is. Part of the flare broke off. Will have to see what fits in that hole.

Thanks for the help. Appears I've learned the hard way also! I'll have to reorder the clips. The blue clips will fit in all the holes, but they don't come out easily...

What grey tab are you talking about? I took my flares off to get them repainted a while back (along with a sport hood, new grill, mirrors and a new bumper). Remember there are screws that go into the bottom of the flares also so its not just clips. Ive actually removed my flares twice. And OP, welcome to owning an Impulse Red Pearl truck. Ive never seen one that DOESNT have faded flares. Mine was terrible when I bought it. And when I had them repainted the first time I didnt have the paint guy blend (I had no idea what new red pearl paint looked like and didnt know how extremely bad the truck was faded. Factory Red Pearl is burgundy, almost purple. The 2nd time I gave him something with the original paint and its a great match.

    The Line-X looks really nice!
Needing to remove and repaint my flares, front bumper as well, what is the best way to remove them from the truck without warping the metal and saving as many clips as possible? If this technique is in another thread, just point me there......
    Thanx in advance.

Remove all screws on the bottom of the flares, some are towards the inside on little tabs and pull from one end to the other. You wont warp the metal. Theres no trick to saving clips, some break and some dont. most of them break though. You can buy a kit for all 4 on Amazon for like $20. Take pictures and keep up with which color clips go where.

yeah, you just kind of have to pull them off after removing the screws. plan on replacing all of the clips.

So to clarify, placing the clips on the flares before attaching to the fenders is the best way? I man concerned about that because the clip locators broke off of the the flares when I pulled them, had to repair them. I'm thinking they will break while re-installing them.

Yes, attach the clips to the flares before you try to install them.
