Hey guys as you can see I've been a member here and a fan of the Tacoma for some time now and I'm finally ready to purchase my first one!

I've been pricing everything and reading some threads including the master invoice price sheet. I've been to my local dealer a couple of times and they appear to be able to do invoice pricing but it also seems like I should be able to get a better deal as their advertised price on their website is the same price they are giving me at the dealership.

    http://www.grahamtoyota.com/new/Toy...525e2d0a0e0a173d6d303452e4063a.htm#tech-specs

This is the link to the one I am looking at and to make it a bit easier to help me this is what the truck has options wise. Again, they are offering the same price to me as on their website.

    7544 - TRD OFF ROAD DOUBLE CAB 4X4 V6 AUTO........... $ 31582 | $ 34090
    HH - OR/Sport Prem & Tech Pkg no JBL (DC Only)....... $ 2074 | $ 2330
    TO - Towing Package.................................. $ 579 | $ 650
    2T - All Weather Liner Plus Door Sill Protectors..... $ 134 | $ 218
    E5 - Exhaust Tip..................................... $ 60 | $ 90
    MF - Mudguards....................................... $ 95 | $ 140
Delivery, Processing, and Handling (DPH) fee
All Other Regions is showing as $900 currently.

So the total invoice would be $35,424. When they showed me the invoice sheet some of the invoices were a little bit different on the small options ie: mudguards but there was also a $688 TDA fee?? They said this is what the dealer pays Toyota for advertising. So they are saying that is part of the invoice price making the total invoice $36112 and their website has it at $36189 sales price.

Do you guys think this is a good deal? Do you think that $688 is something I should be paying or is that really just dealer hold back? Should I offer an even lower amount? Any help is much appreciated!!

    Thanks,
    Scott

I ordered pretty much the same thing, it looks like that's a good deal, at least when most folks are paying at or just under MSRP depending on region and location. Seems CA is tough to get a good deal. Just remember, they're not going to show you all their cards, but if you're talking several thousands off MSRP, I'd say you're looking at a good deal, but it depends on your feeling. Is the truck as it sits worth what you're going to pay? Wouldn't hurt to ask if they could do a little better or throw on another accessory you want. Worst they could say is no. The dealership where I'm getting mine can't keep Tacos on the lot, 4x2 or 4x4, SR5, Sport, OR, Limited, it doesn't matter, they're just selling. They move a lot of volume and tend to work on price a little better than dealers who don't move as many and sell at or close to MSRP.

I have not done any paperwork on it yet. I have the dealer signed his name before I agree (see attached). I just have the tow package on my truck.

Well, the Premium and Tech with JBL is $3000 MSRP so saying your truck has similar features for that price isn't accurate. I was wondering how you got such a good deal. Thanks.

The OP was stating that his truck has no JBL so that's why I thought it was the same as mine. I have the Entrune Premium Package that come standard on the TRD Sports.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I live in MD and a truck like that with those options would be 39,500 MSRP before taxes I think that is a pretty good deal

I got the same truck but no mud guards. I think it's a really good deal. Try offering 35,500$, that's what I got mine for.
Another thing, just a personal opionion, get the JBL if you can. I listen to country/blue grass so I didn't think I needed it, till I heard one a month after. I don't like changing anything from the factory so now my only regret is I should've gotten the JBL.
Either way, you're gonna love it, with all the hate on here, it's a great truck.

When I got mine (SR5 4x4) here in Texas (Northwest Houston) I had the dealer price pretty much the exact truck you're looking at. The lowest they would go was $35,700 plus TTL. I say go for it.

Again, you don't have the Premium and Tech package so you aren't comparing apples to apples. OTD or otherwise.

No worries. It was why I asked for the sticker or invoice on yours. That would have been an outrageously good deal out the door with the tech package.

Got back from the dealership. The lowest they would go (I offered a less) they said is OTD $38500. Mind you my sales tax here is 7.25%. What do you guys think?

Oh and thanks for all of the responses so far. I did look at the JBL package and the navigation is appealing but I would have to save even longer and I've been saving for quite some time already.

lol....not quite that long. I do make decent money but it still took a couple years (I have expensive hobbies). At the time I was first looking it was hard to justify since my current vehicle was reliable but now it is getting less reliable and I need to pass it on. It's not worth it to me to put any more money into a 2001 Chevy Blazer.
