ok, on my 12' double cab i done 25% on 2 fronts and 35% over the back doors. but i wna do alittle darker but not dark as 5% so im thinkin doin the 18% the shop has on the 2 front and 25% on the back doors...that sound pretty close to same look? if u have tint on side windows darker then 25% but lighter then 5% post pics? thanks

I had 10% put all around...50% on the windshield

With that said, my front windows read at 12% and rear reads at 7%. The tinted windshield really makes a difference in how dark it looks. Before I get jumped on, it really doesn't affect night driving, and you can really barely tell its there...I had 30% on my last car and I wouldn't go that dark...

Ohh...and I am exempt from the tint law...

I have 15% on my fronts and stock on the rear whatever it is. I think the fronts are perfect, but the fronts being darker than the rear pisses me off, so I'm going to get the rears done a little darker. I'm on my phone so I can't post pics, but I have pics in my build thread, just click the sig!
My wifes old grand am had 5% all the way around with the windshield done at 50% I think. Great for summer days, dumb as shit for nighttime. Something I'll never have done.

prob a note from a eye doctor. i know most sates have a thing that if you have overly sensitive eyes to light you can get a note from a a doc that allows you to go a lot darker than what the law says.

edit: i was thinking about getting a note. but talked to some good cop buddys and they said don’t worry about it unless you are an A-hole to the cop if you get stopped for something els. that they don’t really worry about it, and most likely wont pull you over just for tint. but if you get stopped for speeding or something and are just a jerk and ass than they may tack/add it on and ticket you for it.

front windows, or windshield? You can do 10 on your front windows all day but if you're talking about windshield then yeah, you can't. if you do 10 in front, make sure the back is darker

I think state law in KY states this ( not 100% sure tho)

windshield drop strip 6-8" or eye level ( guess that depends on how tall u are)
    front side glasses 20%
back glass as dark as you want
    rear sides 5% i think

Yeah, Florida allows you to get a medical exemption allowing you to tint whatever you want, as well as certain license holders for particular professions, and unmarked and K9 cop cars...

"Can I put after-market tinting on the windows of my vehicle?
The main requirements for legal window tinting in California are:

The windshield and front driver's side and passenger's side windows cannot receive any aftermarket tinting.
If the rear window of a vehicle is tinted, the vehicle must have outside rearview mirrors on both sides.
The law prohibits any person from driving any motor vehicle with any object or material placed, displayed, installed, affixed, or applied upon the windshield or side or rear windows, with certain limited exceptions."

I had 20% on all the sides and 15% on the rear windshield on my previous BMW and never had a problem with it... But my truck is look at me red. I might one day do 5% on the rear and 30% or 50% on the front side windows some day. But it's not a high priority.

I was pulled over for tint and the cop wrote front window. and pointed to my visor area when he wrote the ticket. I didnt have visor tint. it was so confusing.. rather than fight the random wording of the ticket, i just got the side windows removed and had it signed off. Unless your tint is like 5 all the way around, you're probably not going to get harassed. I have seen cops write people for the visor though, if u have 5 on the rear, 15 on the side wont get you harassed in my experience

Depending on the cop and department... My sister inlaw got a ticket for her 20% on the front sides in Livermore.

Alameda, Fremont, Pleasanton, Livermore, San Ramon are the bored ones that will enforce the no tint law.

You can put whatever you want on the fronts and windshield but in California, it doesn't matter, it's up to the cop that pulls you over, It is Illegal here and it just gives a cop a reason to pull you over, a real reason. If you have a beer on your breathe it leads to more shit, or the smell of Herb.

Be careful out there and don't give some hypocrite a reason to light you!
