Need someone with a 3rd gen 6MT in the Oklahoma area or willing to drive to have a 12Volt Solutions in Tulsa, Oklahoma for a remote start kit install video instructional. You will be rewarded in a way that will make others jealous! And it will be installed for free for you! I posted this in regional but Oklahoma regional is a ghost town! Any takers?!?! You’ll be the reason 12Volt will start selling remote start kits for manual transmissions!

PM me your contact info, name and location and I’ll have the owner of 12Volt call you! The further you are willing to drive, the sweeter the reward!

Yup! Only two wires are cut, TPMS and Clutch Bypass on HKEY (only option) Manuals. But Instructions and video will be included unless you're the first to go there and get your reward and have them install it for you as a part of that reward!

If you're will to drive, and coming from afar, we can sweeten up the deal a lot more.

I'm local but an AT. I just want a work around for the remote start kill when I open the door please.

Unfortunately no, this is a Toyota design circuit. Some people have forced down the little rubber limit switch on their door to trick the truck into always thinking the “door is closed” but there is great risk involved with the logic and smarts of doing this because anything that depends on the “door being closed” will act the same way for the closed door conditions, when the door is being opened, or left open. For example, interior lights will always be off because the truck thinks the doors are all shut. Not to be confused with the doors being locked. There are lots of complications with this method but you can play with it and see if there is a scenario you don’t like that is worth the risk of making the car think it’s doors are merely shut. I do not endorse this at all, it’s a hack that can also play out to be unsafe. I just don’t have time to sit and think about every scenario that can play out by tricking the Tacoma into always thinking the drivers door is closed (not necessarily locked) you will have to remember to lock or unlock manually via fob. In summary, it’s a Toyota thing...no bypass model I know of can get around it. It’s been discussed and brain stormed many times on TW. I just wouldn’t mess with one piece of the logic puzzle as it can play out in many undesirable ways my friend. Hack at your own risk.

Unless you have Hkey, it will, you can open the door and the engine won't stop. Push to Start, no. Here is the rubber thing I'm talking about, hold it down and keep it held if you have a push to start vehicle, while the driver door open obviously, (mind you this is on all doors so you would have to do this on whichever doors you want the car to keep running without opening cutting the engine) then remote start your vehicle to see what I mean:

Thanks for the tip, but I'll probably keep dealing with it.

As for the phone module, I have no clue what the dealer installed for my remote start on my 16. I hit lock 3 times on my factory remote, so would the phone system work?

They might've just used one of the 3rd party brands I sell. You could pry your head (hard squeeze must be a small guy) to look with a flash light, or search the youtube video for 12volt solutions tacoma install to see the quick steps on removing the trim (very easy) and look. I'm willing to bet they used Fortin or Directed. If so, YES!

I'm in Wisconsin but am from that area. If you're willing to schedule it around the holidays, I can definitely make it work.

How would remote start operate with a manual? Leave it in neutral? Programming on the factory remote? I'm adding aftermarket seat heaters before winter, will you be able to program those to turn on with the truck?

    Go Pokes!
