    Hey guys,

So here is another thread asking for help with a lift kit for my truck. I have definitely done my research, I also had a 2017 SR5 with 5100s and a block in the back before but I am purchasing a 2022 TRD Off Road in a few weeks and want to lift it again but possibly go a different route this time. On my 17 the ride was super stiff, everything rattled, and when i came to a stop i would always hear/feel a bump in the back so I don't want to deal with those things again if i don't have to.

This is my situation: I am not an "offroader" per say. I am a daily highway driver to and from work, I do some beach trips in the summer where I take my truck on the beach, I go hunting and take my truck in the woods through trails a few times a year and maybe a handful of other times, some friends and myself hit some offroad trails in New Jersey but nothing extreme at all. So with that being said, I don't need or want anything extreme or super expensive. The lift is more for the look but obviously I want it to do its job when it comes down to it.

I was thinking a 2-2.5"(MAX) in lift and I will be running 265/70R17's on it as well.

    **Update**
I found a great deal on the Eibach Pro Stage 1 kit for Black Friday and just picked that up.

I have a new question now, for the rear, is a 1.5" block good enough or should i really go for an AAL or something along those lines? Remember, i barely ever go on trails on anything, maybe a few times a year and i never carry anything in the bed at all.

What should i do for the rear?

I honestly think that your best option without hitting your pocket and reliable. Bilstein 5100 set

I’d go with the bilstein 5100’s with OME 884 coils. You had the 887 already and the ride was stiff. The 884’s should be a softer spring and I read it gives 1.5 to 2.0 inches depending on cab configuration and I suspect 4x4 vs 2wd as well. This is the way I’m leaning at the moment.

I would go with an AAL. I first started out with a 1" block and after a month switched over to the headstrong 1.5" AAL. Super easy to install and you don't have to cut anything. Also the ride feels the same and don't feel stiff at all. If I were you i'd spend the money on an AAL. Its not that much more than what you would spend on a block.

Thanks for the reply and thats what I was thinking. I also just got a good deal on the Eibach kit for Black Friday which just saved me $100 so in reality that makes up for the AAL upgrade from the block without having to spend more money.

I highly suggest the headstrong 1.5 AAL. Other AAL you have to cut the pack clips to to get them installed. With the HS there is no cutting. I also haven't had any issues with squeaking or rattling sounds.

I was looking at the Icon Progressive AAL because I read that there was no cutting for that one either, is that wrong?

I might be wrong but i've read on here that some people had to cut the pack clips. Might be different for different years. I was also going to go with Icon but decided on the Headstrong instead.

Ok cool looks like i need to do just a little more reading then before i pull the trigger on this but im thinking i might just save myself the trouble and go with HS.

I think you will do fine with the block. Since you don't carry any payload, there is no need to stiffen up the rear with an AAL. The OEM TRD lift kit comes with block. That should say something.
