Need suspension help

Hey guys. I have a couple questions. I have a 3 inch spacer lift. I want the 6 inch lift possibly later down the road. Right now id like to get another 1 or 2 inches. Can a use aftermarket adjustable shocks like the 5100s to give a little more tire clearance? Or are there any other ways besides body lift(i want to stay away from that i think) Or can i just replace the factory shocks with any adjustable ones? And will that give more lift? Thanks guys.

 

No....There isn't really an in between (specially not for a 4x4). Your CV joints won't be able to take more than 3 inches so stacking lifts is not a good idea. As a 4x4 spindles are not an option.
It's either nothing to 3 inches with adjustable coilovers or bilsteins. Then 4.5 inches with the RCD kit or all the way up to the 6 inch kit.

 

o really. Even if i put a diff drop on? My problem is i had to get 35 inch tires on my truck because my 33s were bald, and i got these for free and they have more tread. Ive trimmed the plastic, but it is now rubbing metal. I need only 1 or 2 inches

 

Yes. Really...You'll most likely thrash your CV joints even with a diff drop (which you can only drop so far before you need to do more modifications).

Rubbing body metal or frame/cab mount metal??

Hey man, the diff drop kits are to aide 3" lifts, they won't do jack for more than that.

Your suspension will be absolute crap if you go more than 3" as is. like mentioned before you have 3 options.
1. Cut the front up, body mount chop for sure: requires a little cutting/grinding/welding.
2. 4.5" lift
3. 6" lift

4. Isn't an option in my opinion, but a body lift mould add more room... you would still need to chop that body mount.

Look up "Relentless Taco" I think he has 35s with a 3" lift.

 

Just do a 1" body lift and you should be good. Also chop the cab mount.

 

ya i really dont want to do body lift either. I will be going to a 6 inch db down the road, just dont have the money now. Thanks for the info. Damn wish i coulda just stayed with 33s

 

i cant even find a 1 inch for a 2008. The only body lift i could find was 3 inch for 333 dollars. There is no way im doing a 3 inch body lift.
