Need tailgate shell. Ebay or Amazon?

Got rear ended. Big enough dent to require a tailgate shell. The dent is about 24" long and about 1/2" deep. All the mechanisms are in good shape, ready to re-use again. The body shop wants $557 for a factory shell.

In my opinion, I'd go with the Amazon one. Their return policy is better to me if you need it.

 

What is your location? Do you prefer an oem gate? I can probably get that price cut in half

I have owned my 95 4x4 xtra cab for 22 years now...And I have been through a few tail gates. I cant stress this enough! If its an OEM or an aftermarket gate...you need to use some type of rust protection on the inside of the gate!!! I use CRC heavy duty marine corrosion inhibitor. It seems to work really well. Comes in a spray can and it dries to a waxy film. Awesome stuff! I use it on all the cars I restore for the inside of the panels!
