    I can't win..........

So a few months ago, someone tells me about how they replace tailgates that bend cause the support is missing. So I go into the dealer and the lady says: we ONLY replace BROKEN tailgates. It needs to be broken before we can change it!

So, I am like........ok, I will take care of it. I have been doing some landscaping and my tailgate took a beating. It finally cracked on the top where it bends. Today, I go into the dealer thinking all will be taken care of but........suprise surprise.............

Sorry sir, you are over your KM'S and you are NOT covered. I was like.. tell me you are joking! He is like, nope, it needs to be under 60 000 kms. I said: When I asked, she said it needed to be broken........ no issues with KM's and now you are saying you wont do anything.

Now I have a cracked tailgate and high blood pressure. Can you say TOYOTA for sale!

So......... sucks to be me eh!!

Do you know anyone with less miles?

I'd do a temporary swap and have them get it fixed, of course that would mean they would be shit out of luck when their weak ass tailgate finally fails

What ever happened to the good ol Toyota reliability we all came to expect for so many years

Find the person that said it needed to be broke. Finish cracking it over there head. Won't replace the gate but could bring customer satisfaction:D

If it makes ya feel any better, I just got off the phone with a buddy of mine, and both his new Chevy trucks are dead in his driveway.

LOL!!! He was bashing me for having a Toyota, when I asked how his Chevys were doing. He said "Pretty good...Im able to keep the miles off of them", so I said "Ah...Their not runniing?", "Nope!" he replied "Both are dead".

Don't let the dealership steer you wrong! I would contact corporate and open a complaint file to make an appointment with a regional rep. My buddy of mine did it with his because at 30k miles they turned him away eventhough his tailgate was bent. Apparently the dealership and himself did not know about the TSB. I ran into him about 6 months ago and saw his bent tailgate but he had over 36k miles on it. I told him to take it to the dealership anyways with my copy of the TSB and at first the dealership denied him but I told him to call corporate and they ended up fixing for him under warranty.

You should know that TSBs are only covered if you are under warranty.

Is it just the plastic that is cracked or is the metal part actually folded in the middle? How about a pic of the damage??

Always do your own research and not accept what someone else tells you, especially at a stealership.
TSB's are only covered under the standard warranty-not the extended.

Agree 100%. The squeeky wheel gets the grease. Go back and keep complaining. Even threaten to call higher up people. Let them know your not happy and word of mouth can sometimes hurt a business.
