need to carry extra camping stuff on top of camper shell with no roof racks

The rack...did you pull that off any specific vehicle?

If you don't want to get a rack for your cap , just get a rack for your cap

 

They make ones with suction cups. My dad has them, not sure what brand tho.

get a roof rack, money well spent. use painters tape to lay it out,sharp drill bit, silicone seal, with stainless hwd.

 

I havent seen ones with suction cups. how secured are they? I would be concerned using those with high load and high winds.

 

We use them to hold a wood and canvas canoe mostly but they are Yakima make. and the one on the topper he made and bolted on using copper piping and made a stand with a base seal of rubber matting and silicon. Works great but we secure the straps to the running boards. It holds a canoe at 55mph anyways. You could easily use the Yakima rack on the topper however.

 

I just googled Tacoma suction cup roof rack, loads of makes and sizes.

 

lol I just came across 4 old racks with suction cups yesterday in the garage. They strapped down to the rain gutters (tells how old they were) They were secure. Don't know where they would strap to today.
