That's the grille surround, but am not sure if there's a different official name. @gunny1005 can get good prices on OEM parts, so send him a message and he'll help you out.

Through Toyota I believe you have to buy entire grille to get that piece

No, there are plenty of guys on here who get just the surround. Runs a little over $200 shipped for a color matched one IIRC.

Before either you need the supercharger. Common practical sense of course.

Judge? First step is admitting the problem.

Welcome aboard....Try Royal South Toyota- Scion in Bloomington Indiana,I bought a complete genuine oem color match grille for $212 plus $15 shipping so I imagine the surround would be much less.

gunny1005 quoted me $394 shipped for a painted surround. Not exactly cheap.

    Dealer wanted over $500.

Ahhh, didn’t catch that this was a third gen. Makes sense since the 2nd gens are a bit cheaper.

I thought that seemed weird that there'd be guys with grille surrounds for third gens just sitting around.

Yeah :(. Mine cracked so I'm in the process of replacing this part as well. Some used pieces with defects pop up on eBay occasionally for the $200-$300 dollar range. But have to get lucky with the right color.

I had a Toyota body shop quote me a fresh coat of paint on this part and they want $271.

OK....Mine was a 2nd Gen 2014, didn’t think there would be that much difference.
