I need to know the size of the bolts and nuts in the picture. I followed a YouTube video to remove the two bolts from the rear bumper, but I found that the threads on these two bolts are completely stripped and probably can't be used again. I need to know the size of these two bolts. My pickup is a 2010 TRD Sport 4.0L 4WD.

I downloaded a service manual for the 2nd generation Tacoma, but I couldn't find the size information for these two bolts in the bumper components section.

I would really appreciate any infomation you can offer.

Thank you all in advance for your help!

The link in my signature below will have it.
You need to pick the bumper with the tow package.

Once you find the part #.
Google it, and see what size it is.

90119-A0194 and 90178-A0056 should be the ones.

Thank you so much! I was browsing through the rear bumper section in the link you provided. Turns out I was looking in the wrong place.

Should be able to take the bolts to your Home Depot or hardware store and match them up. Or are you only looking to get oem bolts?

I don't need the OEM ones. I'll try my luck at Home Depot tomorrow and see if I can find bolts of the right size. :kona:

Should be able to find them, they usually have a bolt size and thread finder tool there with the bolts. If not maybe try fastenal since they have more bolts.

I'm not entirely sure about the socket size for this bolt because the bolt head was very rusted when I removed it. I had to use a flathead screwdriver to scrape off the rust for a while before I could barely hammer the 19mm socket onto it. After a few turns with the impact wrench, I noticed that the 19mm socket was turning along with the bolt. Then I tried hammering the 18mm socket onto it and used WD-40 and a wire brush to clean the threads up. Eventually, I managed to remove the bolt.

    The socket is a 19mm.
The bolt size is a 14mm

    Toyota uses JIS bolts.
Almost all the metric bolts sold in stores are ISO.
So it will me a 21mm socket.

I don't know thread pitch. Just buy new nuts to match the bolts you buy.
I'd go with a minimum of grade 8.8

And yes, I actually went out and measured mine.

This 19mm head. Which will make an 14mm. Also agree min 8.8 grade since it for the trailer hitch. The standard equivalent will 3/4”socket , 1/2”bolt.

    13mm is bigger than 1/2"
    14mm is even bigger.
I'd rather have bigger, than smaller.

    14mm is basically a 9/16 bolt

Agree. Just have him the option of Home Depot or Lowe’s done have the metric size , sometimes their bolt selection can be hit or miss

Tractor supply sells them by the pound. Or individually.
    So does Ace Hardware.

Lowe's and Home Depot are the last place I go looking. They never have what need.
And the bins never have the correct stuff in them.

If you’re lucky enough to live near one of these, just download the app and almost any hardware you can think of will be ready in 45 min at their will call.

Luckily there’s one 3 miles from me in SoCal. There are Grainger and Fastenal locations nearby too, I have all good experiences with McMaster so I never tried any of the others. It’s worth checking to see if you have a local warehouse.
