need to rebuild transmission after deer hit, no parts available?

Hit a deer and that caused a transmission line to blow...except it didn't happen until after the truck came back from the body shop.

Long story short 4-6th are fried but the transmission shop says they can't find parts for a rebuild and even new transmissions are on back order from toyota.

It needs at least the clutches, steels, and gaskets/seals...anyone have any idea where I can get these parts?

nope.

found a bunch of sites but no one has anything for this new of transmission. One place did called alto. They have a kit listed but the rep told me it's not actually being produced yet, still in sort of development or something...she said honestly not this calendar year.

Find a wrecked truck on eBay and buy a whole unit

 

please read the op's post before replying...your link doesn't help me find parts or a transmission

That's what I'm doing now, calling salvage/wreckers/upull-it's...I'll check ebay as well

There’s lots of Tacoma’s on there. Even if they’re not advertising the trans , ask them. That’s how I got seats for my ext cab. They had a pic of entire truck and it was advertised for air bags or some shit and I asked for seats. 4 days later everything I needed was on my door step

 

everythings backordered. you are probably going to have a wait a while. they had a 6 month lead time when they wanted to replace the frame on my last truck 8 months ago

 

Look for totaled Tacomas in your local junk yards

 

time to find a beater to get me by until it gets fixed...ugh...but with as much as I drive, this is gonna be fun

Had to call 20+ salvage yards but finally found ONE who could get me one...and they have to ship it to their location. PHEW!
